Calathea Insgnis AKA: Rattle Snake Plant, Zebra Plant. Calathea insignis, has tapering, narrow, erect foliage, yellow green with lateral ovals, alternately large and small, with maroon underside. Zebra plant is a special, highly-decorative houseplant with colourful, variegated foliage. It is a houseplant that really purifies the air, so it is a true eye-catcher in every interior that also makes a contribution to a better and healthier indoor climate. Water: Over watering can lead to fungal issues or root rot. Try watering a couple of times a week, but always testing the soil first to see if watering is necessary. Light. As with most variegated plants, Calathea need plenty of diffused light. Direct sunlight will cause the leaves to fade and lose their markings. They can tolerate some degree of shade, but the more indirect light, the finer the foliage.
